Our Wedding

 

On August 20, 2011 John and I tied the knot & our wedding was everything I wanted and more. Beside the day I became a mom-- our wedding day will always be my favorite day. We have known each other for quite some time, since we were in the same church. I never thought we would ever be together because we were always friends, until December 9, 2009 when he asked me to be his girlfriend (it was so sweet and he was really nervous and I was screaming like a little girl in my head). I'm 110% sure God put us together--a few months later he asked me to marry him, and a tied the knot a year after that. 

Here are some of Johns thoughts of our wedding day.

I was really nervous, and anxious the night before our wedding and I didn't get much sleep.  And to top off my anxious self...The morning of the wedding me and my future father-in-law went to go get our beards shaved like they did in the old day, with a single blade and hot lather.  I went first (I called before we came to make sure they used a single blade and hot lather, they said they did....).  The barber threw a hot towel on my face then applied the hot lather.  He pulled out a plastic single blade, made by Bic, I'm pretty sure those cost 50 cents and your only supposed to use once.  When he was done, I had cuts on my face and it felt like I had a 5 o'clock shadow.  My father-in-law said no thanks, and we left.  I had to shave again when I got home.

The entire day I was nervous and excited.  I hadn't seen Diana all day and couldn't wait to see her in her wedding dress.  As soon as I saw Diana in her dress, I was great.  No more worries, no more butterfly's in my stomach, I knew it would be a perfect day no matter what happened.  I loved our small wedding small, that we enjoyed with close friends and family.

                            We wanted a very simple yet original wedding. Our colors were coral and gray, I made a lot of the decorations & props, I did my own hair and my mom made my wedding cake -- she made it exactly how I pictured it in my head. Here are a few of my favorite shots from our special day.
