From Scrap Wood to Sign Tutorial

I have a huge bin of wood left from old projects and I try to use every piece of wood I can in some way. I was left with some random pieces of thin wood from my entryway bench John built for me and I thought I would make a small sign to display in my little man's room. Here is how it turned out...It's very simple to make and guess what? I had all the materials on hand so it only cost me a few pennies to make. (FREE)

Molten Chocolate Cake

I am a huge fan of chocolate, especially chocolate cake. One day this week I really wanted a good moist chocolate cake, I but didn't want to make a big fancy cake, I wanted something quick and easy. These cute chocolaty treats take 25 minutes to make from start to first bite.
{Gluten-Free}
Molten Chocolate Cake

1/2 cup chocolate chips*
1/2 cup butter
3 egg yolks
1/4 cup sugar
3 egg whites
4 ramekins
1 tbsp confectioners sugar (for garnish)

Preheat oven to 400F. Lightly grease the ramekins with butter, and set aside. Melt chocolate in the butter in a double boiler, set aside to cool for 5 minutes. Beat egg yolks and sugar then mix into the melted chocolate. Beat egg whites in a bowl until they form soft peaks. Fold the chocolate into the egg whites. Pour batter into the ramekins and bake for 7- 9 minutes. The outside of the cakes will be set and possibly crack but the inside will be moist and liquidity.
Let them cool for a couple minutes, sprinkle with conf. sugar, and dig in with a spoon.

These cups of chocolate cake can be served with ice cream, fresh berries, or whip cream.

*You can use semi-sweet or dark chocolate. I prefer milk chocolate and that's what I used.

What's your favorite chocolate dessert?

DIY Nautical Mirror

A few weeks ago I was shopping in Pottery Barn outlet. I noticed an amazing mirror and thought to myself, "Surely I can make something similar to this", and I did. I decorated my son's room with accessories that are nautical and this mirror is a perfect fit in his room.
